    Chung Hom Kok

    Chung Hom Kok is an area in the southern Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. It is a popular site for barbecue and swimming with a beach and lifeguard services available from April to October. West of Stanley, Chung Hom Kok is referred to the southern most point on a peninsula. The peninsula is also named Chung Hom Kok occupies the largest part of the peninsula. Chung Hom Kok Beach is located on the western shore Chung Hom Kok in Chung Hom Wan.

    A Home Ownership Scheme estate and a public housing estate is located in the Ma Hang area, to the northeast of Chung Hom Kok. At the back of the peninsula, there is a low density residential area.

    Chung Hom Kok is one of the prettiest and most relaxing beaches in Hong Kong, and it is actually not too far away from our home (compared to some of the beaches around Sai Kung. Located at the southwest part of Hong Kong island, between Repulse Bay and Stanley, Chung Hom Kok beach is tucked away from the road – it sits at the end of a roundabout and then you’ll have to walk several steps downhill, to reach the beach. Compared to other beaches, it is smaller but beautiful – and it is so much more quieter! Not only because it is a little more difficult to find. Chung Hom Kok beach can be reached from Central (Exchange Square) via bus No. 6, 6X, 63, 66 to Chung Hom Kok – hop off at the roundabout, walk downhill and turn left to reach the staircase.

    The area boasts views of Stanley, the Red Hill Peninsula and out towards the South China Sea, and has a quiet, suburban feel to it. And the area is populated by townhouses and spacious low-rise buildings. Chung Hom Kok has one supermarket but with quick access to Stanley and Repulse Bay, a range of dining and shopping facilities are conveniently within reach by car or public transport.
